NEST
Tagline: “Meet friends, make art, or just hang ”
LAMP Lab: May 2006
Target platforms: Mobile, Broadband PC and real life
Project description: nest is an imaginative and playful digital locale where teenagers come to connect, create, and stay up to date with whatever people their age are doing elsewhere in the world. nest uses an innovative interface that is easily customised by the user so they always feel at home. Clever coding actively propels like minded nesters toward each other, offering a multitude of things to do together, like online collaborations to make music, micromovies, interactive art or animation. Changing competitions, discussions and workshops with professional artists will see nest quickly become the place to be and be seen.
nest is a unique broadband and multi platform experience for teenagers that builds upon the critical and popular success of Perth’s annual AWESOME Festival, and makes awesome arts experiences available all day, every day wherever they live in WA. nest expands conventional ideas about creative content, acknowledges that making art is about making sense of the world, and uses technology to deliver new kinds of arts experiences that are relevant, exciting and engaging to a youth audience.
